Capitol Building

Columbus Memorial

The steps the President walks down to his inauguration.

Senator Lee's desk.

Since Rhett had an internship this summer at Senator Lee's office, we were able to do some insider things at the capitol building. We were able to go into the Library of Congress which was super beautiful. Before we got there though, we accidentally walked into the wrong room while searching. It happened to be the room that houses lots of artifacts. The man in there told us we could come in and he would show us some stuff. He showed us Woodrow Wilson's Nobel Peace Prize (and we got to hold it), Hitler's personal copy of Mein Kampf, the bible that Abraham Lincoln was sworn in on, the grammar book that Lincoln used to learn to read and write, Charles Dicken's cane, and so much more. Then we were able to see a first addition Book of Mormon. It was quite a cool trip!!!
